What red light therapy is

Red light therapy is a non invasive approach to hair restoration that uses specific wavelengths of light delivered directly to the scalp. The light is used to support cellular activity within the hair follicles and encourage healthier hair growth.

Treatment requires no surgery and no downtime, and can be incorporated into a wider hair restoration programme where appropriate.

Who it may suit

It can be particularly useful for people experiencing early or progressive thinning, reduced hair density, a receding hairline or certain patterns of androgenetic hair loss.

Because hair grows in cycles, consistency matters. Treatment is therefore typically delivered as part of a structured programme over time rather than as an occasional standalone session.

What it cannot do

Red light therapy works with follicles that are still viable, which is why assessment is important. It cannot recreate follicles that have been permanently lost.

Red light therapy forms part of our wider foundation first approach to hair restoration, rather than being viewed as a standalone answer to hair loss.

The starting point is always a consultation and scalp assessment, which lets us understand the condition of your existing hair, establish what remains viable and determine whether treatment is appropriate at all.

I have been visiting the Hampton Clinic for ten years and there is absolutely nowhere else I would go for my treatments. Customers are always welcomed by a warm, polite and efficient team who are experts in their field. Treatments are carried out in an extremely respectful and personal manner.

I have been coming here for a very long time for laser hair growth treatment. I originally knew Tarek from a previous clinic, and I have continued to trust him. It never feels rushed or clinical in a cold way. There is always good conversation, genuine care, and a real personal touch, which makes a big difference.

I am impressed, and learnt a lot at my hair loss consultation today at The Hampton Clinic Bristol. They explained everything, what is the cause of my thinning hair, and advised what I should use and take.

Always welcoming, staff very friendly and positive. I have been on numerous occasions and have always been treated respectfully. They keep you updated about your sessions by email and text, and you always get an aftercare email too.
